He has successfully represented clients in jury trials and appeals in state and federal court, as well as in numerous AAA and JAMS arbitrations, mediations and other ADR proceedings. Tom often serves as local counsel for national entities requiring assistance in navigating Ohio's state and federal courts. He has represented clients throughout Ohio, including Cleveland (Cuyahoga County) and Columbus (Franklin County) and in numerous other states. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Sixth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. Tom was a partner with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP (now Squire Patton Boggs) prior to forming Kovach & Farling Co., LPA and Thomas G. Kovach Co., LPA. He has taught “Pretrial Litigation” as an adjunct professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Tom attended St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, received his B.A. from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and attained Order of the Coif in earning his J.D. from the Ohio State University College of Law. Tom lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with his wife Laura Kingsley Hong (a partner with Tucker Ellis L.L.P.) and their two daughters. |
